TLLMagazine asked..
Q: What has been your greatest accomplishment to date and why?

From our Viewer

Where do I begin.... I had completed my first novel. I'd been working on this project for about 10 months and it was a very difficult time for me. I wasn't going to mention it, but I have a few health issues that prevent me from doing certain things..but God! To finally finish this book was wonderful - His words to me were enough. I am experiencing so many different emotions right now from wanting to cry from day to day to wanting to run like Forrest Gump. Every thing I've done thus far; owning my own magazine, my family and now this book - is so much of me and where I am. During the writing process I went through a lot, not knowing which way this book was going to go, I had to go to God in regards to what I needed to do. I waited and waited, and thought to myself, forget it.. but who am I kidding? And then He spoke to me "the book you are writing will be written, but just not the way you're trying to do it". So here I am today a novelist that is about to take the literary world by storm.

Debra Martin Chase is a Hollywood producer and former lawyer who was named by Savoy magazine in August 2003 as one of the 100 most influential African Americans in the United States and by Black Enterprise in 2007as one of the Top 50 Powerbokers in Hollywood. Debra is the first African American female producer to have a solo producing deal at a major studio as well as being a two-time Emmy nominated television and film producer.
There are a small number of Black female producers in Hollywood who have been able to stay relevant and profitable; Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Tracey Edmonds, Queen Latifah and then there’s Debra Martin Chase. Her name may not register with the general public the same way as the aforementioned women, but her credits speak for their self: Cheetah Girls, Cinderella, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, 1 and 2, Princess Diaries, 1 and and most recently, Just Wright. Some may consider her work “chick flicks,” but Martin Chase makes movies for a living and the living is good.

Rosie Pope's announcement that she had a baby on Mother's Day is a made-for-reality-TV birth story. Life & Style Magazine reports that the star of Bravo's 'Pregnant in Heels,' a show about her pregnancy concierge services, went into the hospital on Sunday May 13 to be induced and proceeded to live-tweet how many centimeters dilated she was, what her contractions felt like and more. Shelly Ballestero's LIFESTYLE TIPS..

Ways to Look Younger Tomorrow

Seaweed Detox Bath: Take some Nori flakes and place in cheesecloth, tie at the top. Place the pouch in the warm bath water, squeeze and rub the pouch in targeted areas.

Sleep: Get at least eight hours of sleep. Try to go to bed before 10 p.m. Tip: Listen to calming music for 45 minutes before bedtime. (A study showed that music helped elderly folks sleep longer and feel less tired the next day. This may be because music decreases a key stress hormone in the body.)

De-puff: Cut back on white flour and sugar for 24 hours. Refined carbs cause your body to retain water, making your face “puffy” OR Throw on another pillow. Fifteen minutes before rising from bed in the morning, place an extra pillow under your head. This will help de-puff your eyes.

Frownies: These little tape devices work miracles without needles and have been around for a hundred years. Wear them at night or for at least four hours and you will see results. Warning: Your husband may think you look like a mummy.

Positive attitude: Various researches have shown that optimism increases good health. Start with positive self-talk:“I can handle this”. Try to avoid criticizing yourself! Detox for a day and drink tea! rooibos (red tea) . This South African tea has collagen-building copper, as well as vitamin C and other antioxidants.

Cut down on salt: Salt makes you retain water. Avoid fast foods and switch to Spice Hunters, my favorite spices. My mom is now also a believer in these tasty salt-free spices. (Those with high blood pressure should only have 250mg a day; the average person, 3,000mg or less. If you are active and sweat a lot, you may need more.)

Plump away your wrinkles: Drink eight to ten glasses of water with lemon a day. Your skin will be more hydrated and the appearance of wrinkles less pronounced, while lemon helps with digestion. (Tip, squeeze some lemon on a cotton ball, and pat around eye, this helps to exfoliate as well—be careful of eye area).

Avoid sugar: It dries out your skin and promotes wrinkles.

Whiten your teeth: Try whitening strips while reading a book before you doze off.

Pray: Thank God for everything before bed and before you get up. Be grateful..

Orange Sweet Potato Baked Chips with Thyme..True sweet potatoes are tuberous vegetables with light to deep-red skins and pale yellow to orange flesh. The term yam is also incorrectly applied to sweet potatoes in US, most often when referring to the darker-skinned, orange-fleshed variety. In fact, true yams are a very large tuberous vegetable eaten in Africa and the Caribbean. Yummy!

JEANNIE MAI dishes the “STYLE FILE” on her life in fashion..

You do not have to be a "fashion guru" to understand what works with your body and personality, Mai said. Mai's advice to women: highlight your best asset. The petite fashionista said her style inspiration comes from embracing her changing moods. Mai conveys her bubbly personality through her choice of clothing. When she feels "sultry," Mai wears dark hues and bright colors when she wants to feel "inviting." But the best fashion accessory does not come from a boutique or catalogue.

"There are so many layers to how a woman can feel, that if we can embrace the feelings we're experiencing, we can create a theme of looks that celebrate what life gives us," Mai said. "The more you embrace what you're going through, the more you'll exude a fashionable confidence and keep 'em guessing." Check out more trend advice from Jeannie at

We posed a question.. and one of our TLLM viewers answered.. see what she had to say.

QHey Ladies.. It's hump day.. and time to push to the finish line and make it happen.. NO EXCUSES TODAY, JUST RESULTS. Write me back and let me know "what was your greatest accomplishment today"..

A: My greatest accomplishment today was not "my" accomplishment, yet the works of the Lord which was completed through this earthen vessel. God receives the ultimate Glory as I am but a conduit to spreading the Gospel, winning souls with a deliverance anointing and in meditating on, reading, studying, speaking and living His Word. My greatest accomplishment today was the accomplishment of Christ's work through me.

Named "America's Best Interior Designer" by CNN and Time Magazine, Sheila Bridges has designed residences and offices for some of the most prominent entertainers, entrepreneurs and business professionals including the 8,300 square foot Harlem offices for former President Bill Clinton and his staff.

But when Shelia began to notice she was losing handfuls of hair, she knew something was wrong - she discovered she had  Alopecia Areata (a hair-loss condition which usually affects the scalp). This once confident and thriving design star now faced a very different picture.. her own. In a media and entertainment world where appearance is everything, Bridges' hair loss halted her TV career for a moment. She stepped back and took some much needed time to take care of her health and re-adjust her life. Today Shelia is back, beautiful and bouncing of the artistic walls of her Design Empire. "The only women on TV without hair are the aliens on Star Trek," she jokes.
"I've had to dig deeply to redefine my feelings and ideas about beauty because, otherwise, if I had to base it on the feedback I get from people or society, my life would be horrible."

We celebrate your LIFE, STRENGTH and Power to "LIVE YOUR BEAUTY" out Loud!
